About

The mission statement of First Evangelical Lutheran Church is “We, First Evangelical Lutheran Church, proclaim the Way of Christ through our values and passions that sustain ourselves and our communities” First Evangelical Lutheran Church has gathered to worship God and serve our neighbors for over a century (established in 1880). The church draws participants from both the immediate North Platte community and surrounding small towns and rural areas. We continue to serve long-established members; work creatively and cooperatively with households, children, and youth; serve as an energetic leader in congregational renewal; and join with the lay leadership in setting the tone for Christian discipleship centered in Word and Sacrament. The programs and ministries of the congregation are infused with these values. The congregation is one in which caring relationships are prized, there is a proud tradition of service in the local community (and in conjunction with synod and churchwide mission), and worship is central to the life of the community.
