(North Platte, Nebraska, November 16, 2015) – Each year the Nebraska Tourism Commission hosts the Nebraska Agri/Eco-Tourism Workshop to help rural entrepreneurs learn how to get the most out of their land, gain the latest industry knowledge, hear fresh marketing ideas, find greater financial opportunities and network with potential partners. The 2016 conference is scheduled for February 22-24 at the Midtown Holiday Inn, Grand Island.

The North Platte / Lincoln County Visitors Bureau believes strongly in the opportunities available in the area of agri/eco tourism for Lincoln County. As part of our commitment to continuing to help grow the rural tourism product offered in Lincoln County, we are offering two scholarships in the amount of $400 each to help defray the cost of local entrepreneurs attending this workshop.

The scholarships are a stipend and not intended to cover all costs associated with the conference, but are reimbursements to cover the cost of conference registration, lodging, meals and travel.

Applicants must complete an application and include up to three typed pages of information with answers to the following: Statement of financial need; number of years they have attended the Nebraska Agri/Eco Tourism Workshop; statement explaining existing or future tourism organization/business; statement explaining how attending the Nebraska Agri/Eco Tourism Workshop will benefit them and/or their organization/business. In addition, applicants agree to provide a written summary to the North Platte / Lincoln County Visitors Bureau detailing what they learned at the workshop and how their tourism business/organization will benefit.

Conference information and registration can be found on the Nebraska Tourism Commission website at http://visitnebraska.com/media/industry/2016-agri-ecotourism-workshop.  The scholarship guidelines and application can be downloaded at the Industry page at http://visitnorthplatte.com/industry/.

Completed applications must be postmarked back to the Visitors Bureau by Friday, February 5.
